Danny started playing bagpipes in Alaska in 2002, when he got sick of playing the boring bass lines on bass clarinet with his local high school band. He’s been playing with pipe bands ever since, and even taught and led a beginner band from 2018-2020. In 2020, his military job moved him to the DC metro area, and he jumped at the chance to play with a Grade 2 band – MacMillan – for the first time in his life. He loves the balanced atmosphere that MacMillan provides – it is musically challenging and competitive, while simultaneously fun (nobody takes themselves too seriously in this bunch). Not knowing when and where the military will take him next, Danny is soaking up every minute in the circle with this awesome group!
