Lorna Browne

When she was just 9 years old Lorna joined an all-girls pipe band and with the exception of a seven-year hiatus when she had her sons, she has been playing since.

Lorna’s journey in bagpipes began when she was 9 years old with an all-girls pipe band, the Sprigs O’Heather, in Saskatchewan, Canada. Since then, she has played in bands in Alberta and Utah. Lorna began her association with bands in the DC area with Denny and Dunipace, which became the City of Washington. In 2002 Chris Hamilton invited her to play with MacMillan and she been a part of the band since.

Lorna says “I enjoy working with and building friendships with other pipers and drummers as we make music that I enjoy performing.”
