As a kid my school teachers were constantly scolding me for banging on my desk with markers. Rather than punish me, my parents simply enrolled me in highland drum lessons with my Grandpa. Over the years I have been fortunate to compete in the World Championships three times (once with MacMillan), winning 2nd place in 3B and “Best Overseas Band” with the Ohio-based Cyril Scott Pipe Band at the 1998 games.
I have been with MacMillan since 2016 and when not playing snare with the grade 2 band, I can be found attempting to play pipes on various parade/fundraising gigs.
Currently an active-duty musician with the United States Naval Academy Band as a trumpeter, I am fortunate to also be playing instructor/Enlisted Representative for the USNA Pipes & Drums, one of the only two active duty pipe bands in the United States Military.
In my “spare time” I enjoy watching/playing ice hockey, college football, and playing with my dog, Piper.
